What is a Business Strategy? 

When I say the word “strategy,” I don’t mean a big, complicated document full of charts and data. I’ve seen those. I’ve created those. But for new entrepreneurs, that kind of thinking doesn’t help—it actually gets in the way. Strategy doesn’t have to be heavy. It just has to be smart.


Here’s how I define it now:

"A business strategy is simply deciding which actions create the highest return—and doing those first!"

That’s it!


It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing the right things in the right order.

What is a Business System? 

Now, once you’ve made that strategic decision—once you’ve figured out what works—the next step is to make it repeatable. That’s where a system comes in.

When I look back at the times I made the biggest leaps in my business, they never started with branding. They didn’t come from a new logo, a clever post, or the perfect course platform.


They came from something far less glamorous—but way more powerful. They came from me helping a real person solve a real problem... and giving them a way to say yes.


That’s where the sale lives. Not in your color palette. Not in your domain name.


The sale lives in the space where you show up with value—and someone else sees it clearly enough to act on it.


But here’s the trap I see so many new entrepreneurs fall into: they get busy building everything except the thing that creates income. I call it the “almost business.”


It looks like a business, it sounds like a business, but it’s missing the one thing that matters—sales.


And I don’t say that with judgment. I’ve done it. I’ve spent weeks perfecting something no one asked for, only to realize I skipped over the most important part: Does this help someone, and have I offered it to them in a way that feels simple and valuable?


You’ve probably heard a lot of gurus, teachers, and coaches say, “Focus on the things that move the needle.” But what does that really mean? For me, it means this: Do the thing that creates a result for someone else—and then give them the chance to pay you for it!


That’s what moves the needle.


Not branding. Not brainstorming. Not busywork. A real result delivered to a real person!


That’s why, if you’re just starting out, I want you to build differently. I want you to lead with the result—not the resources. I want you to start where the sale lives.


Because when you focus on creating one offer, delivering it to one real person, and getting one real result, you don’t just build a sale—you build a system. 


You don’t just make money—you make momentum.

One of the fastest ways to stall your momentum as a new entrepreneur is to chase five ideas at once and finish none of them.


I know because I’ve done it. 


You start writing a course, then bounce to a coaching idea, then pause to make a checklist or brainstorm an ebook—and suddenly two months have passed, and you’re no closer to a sale than when you started.


So let’s get back to what works: one offer. Not ten. Not three. Just one.


Creating a real offer means deciding on one problem you want to solve for someone else—and packaging it in a way that feels helpful and simple. 


It doesn’t need to be fancy. You’re not launching a product line or opening a store. You’re creating a solution. And that solution just needs to be clear, deliverable, and easy to say yes to.


If you’re not sure what your offer should be, that’s okay.


You can ask AI for help. ChatGPT can give you 10 product ideas in 30 seconds. You can prompt it to create an outline, write a checklist, or even give your offer a name. But remember—AI doesn’t create clarity. You do. Use AI to support your idea, not to invent one for you.


✅ Prompt 1 (to generate an offer idea):
“Based on what I know about [insert topic you’re interested in], what are 3 simple digital product ideas I could create and sell online?”

✅ Prompt 2 (to outline the content):
“Create a 3-step checklist or mini-guide for someone who wants to [insert the result your product will help them achieve].”

✅ Prompt 3 (to name the offer and write a first sales line):
“Give me 5 catchy names for my digital guide about [insert topic description] and write one sentence that would make someone want to check it out.”


Here’s what matters: the offer must be real. That means you can actually deliver it (as a 1-page PDF, a digital product, or a simple 'how to' guide for example). You don’t have to build the course, design the funnel, or launch the full program yet.


You just have to get specific about the result someone will walk away with when they say yes.


This one offer becomes the foundation of your entire business. It’s the first lever you pull that actually moves money, momentum, and meaning.


Everything else—your brand, your funnel, your systems—can be built around it. But this comes first. 🎯

Here’s where most new entrepreneurs get stuck: they create something... and then hide it. They tuck it away on their desktop. They quietly post about it once on social. They wait for traffic to magically appear.


But sales don’t happen when offers sit still. Sales happen when offers are shared—with real people.


I’ve had students tell me they don’t want to “bother” people. But offering help isn’t bothering. If you believe your offer is valuable, then sharing it is service.

That first time you share something you’ve created, especially with someone close to you, you’re not just making an offer—you’re stepping into your new identity as an entrepreneur!


This doesn’t mean cold selling. It doesn’t mean pitching strangers in their DMs. It means this: pick three people you know, reach out with kindness, and offer your help.


You can say, “Hey, I’m building something new and I think it could really help you with [insert result]. Would you want early access or a free version in exchange for feedback?”


That’s not pressure—that’s partnership.


And here’s the beautiful thing: whether or not they say yes, you’ve just practiced one of the most valuable entrepreneurial skills in the world—making an offer.

At this stage, you're not building an empire—you’re building proof. 


And that means your goal isn’t scale. It’s evidence. You want to see that what you created can actually help someone. That your offer lands. That your idea has weight. That someone got something valuable from what you made.


That’s what we call a “result.” 


And it can look like a lot of things: someone saying thank you. Someone giving you feedback. Someone using what you made and getting a small win. Even better if they share it with someone else. Even better if they offer a testimonial or a screenshot.


This is the moment you stop flying blind. Now, you have validation.


You have proof that your offer isn’t just an idea—it’s a solution! That makes it easier to share again. It builds confidence. It lets you refine and improve.


It becomes your first step toward a system—because now you have something worth repeating.


And if that person pays you? Even better. But don’t get stuck on the payment yet. What matters most is that you helped someone, and you saw it work.


That result is the seed of your business. It’s the reason to keep going. It’s what turns momentum into belief.

I’ve lost count of how many people have asked me, “Do I need a funnel to make money online?” And I get it—once you start Googling how to start an online business, it feels like the internet is screaming funnels, funnels, funnels at you from every angle.


Sales pages, landing pages, opt-ins, automations. Before you know it, you're deep in tech tutorials, trying to connect five tools together before you’ve even made your first dollar.


But here’s what I’ve learned, both through experience and working with brand-new entrepreneurs: your first sale won’t come from a funnel. It will come from a person.

Let me tell you something I wish someone had said to me when I was just starting out: You don’t need a funnel to start making money. You need a conversation.


One of the most powerful—and overlooked—ways to get your first “yes” is to reach out directly to someone who might benefit from what you’ve created. Not with a pitch. Not with a long-winded explanation. Just a message that says, “I see you. I built something that might help. Want to check it out?”


When I started reaching out to people like this, everything changed. It felt personal. It felt connected. 


It didn’t feel like I was marketing—I was just showing up for someone with something I believed in. And even when they didn’t buy, those conversations gave me feedback, confidence, and real insight into what people actually needed.


You can start this right now. 


Make a short list of 3–5 people you know who either fit your ideal customer profile or might know someone who does. These can be old coworkers, friends, someone from a group you’re in, or someone who’s mentioned needing help in a specific area. (Open your phone contacts, your personal email list, your current personal Instagram or Facebook account—I bet you actually have a lot more than 3-5).


Then send a message like this:

“Hey [Name], I’ve been working on something new that helps people [insert result or solve problem]. I’d love to offer you early access or even give it to you free in exchange for your feedback. No pressure at all—just wanted to put it in your hands if it’s something you’d find valuable or interesting.”


This isn’t about selling hard. It’s about serving early.

It's about practicing how to present your value without overthinking it.


And here’s the best part: every time you send one of these messages, you're not just opening a door—you’re building a skill! 


The skill of making offers without fear. The skill of owning your value. The skill of showing up instead of staying hidden.


And in business, those skills pay off long before your funnel ever does. 🎯

Strategy 2: Offer in Exchange for Testimonial or Case Study

Not everyone is ready to charge on Day One—and that’s okay.


But what you do need on Day One is proof. Proof that your offer works. Proof that someone used it and got a result. Proof that you’re not just building something you hope people want—you’re building something that actually helps.


That’s where offering your product or service in exchange for a testimonial comes in.


This strategy works beautifully when you’re still building confidence or want feedback before launching something publicly. Instead of leading with a price, you lead with generosity—and intention. 


You say, “I’m testing this out, and I’d love to offer it to you for free in exchange for your honest thoughts.” If they love it, ask for a few kind words you can share with others. If they give feedback, use it to make your offer even better.


This creates a win-win. They get value. You get validation.


I’ve used this approach many times when launching something new. And more often than not, the person I served for free ended up referring someone else—or coming back later to pay for something new.


Because that’s what happens when you serve without strings attached: people remember how you made them feel—they remember the connection!


The bonus? That testimonial becomes part of your sales system. You can quote it in messages, put it on a sales page later, or use it as social proof when you're ready to promote more publicly.

You don’t need to overbuild—this can be a one-page guide, a simple checklist, or a three-step how-to resource.


The point is to get your first “yes,” not to create the world’s most beautiful piece of art. The content, value, and result the product delivers heavily outweigh the presentation. 


Go for professional, but don't get stuck going for 'perfect'.

How does someone discover and receive your offer?


Before you build a landing page, start with direct outreach. DM someone. Email someone. Post in a group. Text a friend. That’s where we start!


But once you’re ready to repeat this more consistently, use AI to help here, too:

  • You can even start tagging people or sending simple automated replies so you’re not doing everything manually each time.
